We believe in

changing lives through sport

Creating opportunities for Australians with disabilities is at the heart of everything we,
the Australian Paralympic Committee, do. Every hour of every day is spent selecting, preparing and getting the Team to each Games. Right now, our summer athletes
are preparing for Rio 2016.

While we receive some Federal Government funding, none goes towards sending the Teams to the Games. We’re a charity and rely on donations to do this. That’s where you come in. Because without
your help, we can’t send them anywhere.

Together, we can help our athletes reach their full potential and, ultimately, achieve success at the Paralympic Games. With your belief in Australia’s Paralympians, we can continue to change lives through the power of sport.

Remember, only with your help can we get
the Team to the Games

When you believe you can do it, you can prove people wrong

I’ve won Gold in the Paralympic marathon twice. I've crawled the Kokoda Trail. And even won the Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race. I've received the acclaim but they've all been team efforts. My next goal is winning Gold in Rio 2016, but the Australian team can’t get there without your help.

Games experience: Sydney 2000, Athens 2004, Beijing 2008 and London 2012
Greatest moment: Winning my second Paralympic marathon Gold in Beijing

As a kid I watched Australian athletes competing and singing the national anthem on the world stage – and I wanted to be there. Knowing the public supports us and treats us like equals makes a big difference.

Cycling allowed me to accept my cerebral palsy and know who I truly am

Knowing there is support from the public really amazes me. That people believe in what we do inspires me to aim higher. This passion from the Australian people can fuel a bigger and better Paralympic Team for Rio.
